NIT – Many of us grew up watching the “Wheel of Fortune” gameshow, aired on American TV sets for decades. It is a fun show where people win money and make their lives better; there’s been over 6000 episodes.

On Sunday, 67-year-old show host Pat Sajak sounded off on a not-so-fun topic – global warming – and trashed people who believe it is a real phenomenon and threat to humanity.

“I now believe global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends. Good night.” Sajak said via Twitter. His Twitter account is promoted by the show on its website. “If you’re feeling extra spintastic, you can give a shout out to Pat on Twitter @patsajak,” the show says on its website.

Later, on Monday, Sajak lets on that he likes to push some buttons from time to time, and may have been looking for the big response his tweet got.

Sometimes it’s fun to poke a stick in a hornets’ nest just to hear the buzzing,” Sajak said.

Recent reports indicate that global warming is advancing so quickly that oceans will rise 10 feet as the Antarctic ice sheet melt accelerates, and only extremely fast action on the part of human-kind can slow the coming catastrophe.

Is Pat Sajak right about global warming, or wrong?

I heard on the news that Sajak is now saying he was just kidding when he said that and someone jumped on it. This is the world we now live in where if they don’t agree with you they try to discredit you. I don’t know if he is telling the truth or not.

Global warming is a good thing. It is the way the earth cleans the environment. Over the last millions of years, the earth has warmed and cooled many times.

The Government needs to keep their nose out of it.

Also, the Feds sure as heck do not need to tax carbon emissions to raise more money for the tax man and money grubbers.

Get a grip folks!

Go Sajak!! Wheel Of Fortune rocks.

@Realist-Isn’t it strange that the temperature has not increased in the last 17 years. That is why they stopped calling it global warming and started calling it climate change. However, I found out that although it is getting a little warmer in some areas at the surface the real problem is that it is getting “COLDER” in the upper atmosphere. Part of that is due to the carbon dioxide we are producing. However, the U.S. is a minimal part of that. Look to China and India for that.

@LVS – I am glad to see that you finally came around to believe that man has impacted the Climate.
You must have had a discussion with the good Dr. S.

As to your statement on the countries, the problem with focusing purely on CO2 from burning fossil fuels is that it ignores other greenhouse gases and non-fossil-fuel sources of CO2.
When these are included, the figures change considerably.
1. China: 7,216 MT or 16.4%
2. US: 6,931 MT or 15.7%
3. Brazil: 2,856 MT or 6.5%

@BCN-You are correct. However, one of the gasses they are most concerned about is methane. I know a lot of our animals put out a considerable amount of that but I am not sure how much the other countries put out. I am guessing it is considerable. A couple of countries that are huge polluters that are not on you list are the Koreas, India is a biggy, and of course Pakistan. South America does it’s share as well and that is getting worse as they cut down more trees. They are all bad.

@BCN-The South Pole issue as I understand it is “Natural Climate Change” that is being caused by ocean currents undercutting the glaciers and the Earths Mantle creating heat. It seems that the magma there is much more free flowing than other areas. They are not sure why but think it might be the type of minerals there. Not much we can do about that and yes, it IS going to cause the ocean levels to rise. Iowa may become beachfront property in a thousand years or so. Amazing what you find out.

@ realist – With those comments, it figures that you are a Wheel of Fortune type.
There are two types of people, Wheel of Fortune people and Jeopardy people.

I will listen to climate scientists who earned PhD’s and conduct years of research, subject to peer review for information on climate.

People listen to Pat Sajak to find out if there is a letter “D” on the board.
I hope that’s simple enough for Sajak to understand.

More ”news”.

Never liked your show either you slob.

Is there an F U Alex?

Hey, your on to something here. With all the hysteria why not?
