NIT – Many of us grew up watching the “Wheel of Fortune” gameshow, aired on American TV sets for decades. It is a fun show where people win money and make their lives better; there’s been over 6000 episodes.
On Sunday, 67-year-old show host Pat Sajak sounded off on a not-so-fun topic – global warming – and trashed people who believe it is a real phenomenon and threat to humanity.
“I now believe global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends. Good night.” Sajak said via Twitter. His Twitter account is promoted by the show on its website. “If you’re feeling extra spintastic, you can give a shout out to Pat on Twitter @patsajak,” the show says on its website.
Later, on Monday, Sajak lets on that he likes to push some buttons from time to time, and may have been looking for the big response his tweet got.
“Sometimes it’s fun to poke a stick in a hornets’ nest just to hear the buzzing,” Sajak said.
Recent reports indicate that global warming is advancing so quickly that oceans will rise 10 feet as the Antarctic ice sheet melt accelerates, and only extremely fast action on the part of human-kind can slow the coming catastrophe.
Is Pat Sajak right about global warming, or wrong?
