December 2, 2013
The Board of Education Committee of the Whole met at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013, in the Board Room of the Administration Building. Present were Robert Thoms, President; Janna Arndt, Mark Dodd, Darshini Jayawardena, Paula Recinos, and Scott Warren, Directors. Director Tim Becker was absent.
Yaggy Colby Associates representatives reviewed the facility master plan, facility needs and projected costs in the next steps of the construction and renovation project at the Mason City High School.
Superintendent Anita Micich and CFO/Board Secretary Ramona Jeffrey provided information related to the security plans for the entrance renovations at the elementary buildings.
Superintendent Anita Micich reported on legislative advocacy.
Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services Hal Minear provided an update on the Special Schools Programs.
Superintendent Anita Micich facilitated a discussion on the Iowa Association of School Boards annual convention.
Executive Director of Educator Quality and Learning T. J. Jumper provided an update on district data.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. No action was taken at this work/study session.
