NEW HARTFORD, IOWA – A young child in New Hartford was nearly abducted this weekend, KWWL reported Monday evening.
According to the TV station, police in the area are searching for an “older black man” who allegedly attempted to abduct an 8 year-old girl while her mother was in a hair salon.
The incident took place around 2 PM Saturday near the New Hartford City Hall. The man allegedly told the girl there was a “family emergency” and she needed to get in the van.
The girl ran away, KWWL reported.
