MASON CITY – Rebecca Broerman of Mason City signed a national letter of intent for collegiate bowling at Mystic Lanes on Sunday, choosing AIB College in Des Moines.
Rebecca bowls for the Mason City Mohawks bowling team and attends school in Rockford. In 2012, Rebecca was 1st place division champion at the sub-state meet held in Fort Dodge. She was also a District 4 1st Team selection and she was selected “Bowler of the Year” with a 219 average.
At the state meet held March 12th, 2013 in Des Moines, Rebecca got fourth place with a two game score of 453.
Rebecca’s family was especially excited about her decision to bowl for AIB College. She had a large crowd of supporters on-hand Sunday to wish her the best (see video below).
“I’m so very proud of how far Rebecca has come and know that she will be the best at what she wants to do,” said her mom, Michelle.
“I’m very proud and excited for Rebecca,” said Rebecca’s dad, Devin, who owns the Mystic Lanes. “She has worked very hard for this and continues to every day. With her determination, I think she will achieve her every goal and dreams. I look forward to watching her and her new team grow.”
