WASHINGTON – Saudi Arabia made a large contribution to a United Nations counterterrorism agency this week.
Secretary of State John Kerry lavished praise upon the leader of the radical Islamic nation Thursday.
“We welcome and applaud today’s $100 million donation by His Majesty King Abdullah, on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to the UN Centre on Counterterrorism (UNCCT),” Kerry said.
“His Majesty’s generous donation, on the occasion of Eid al Fitr, demonstrates once again the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting multilateral institutions and strengthening international cooperation on counterterrorism,” Kerry continued.
“With these funds, we hope that the UN Counterterrorism Implementation Task Force (UNCTITF), of which the Centre is a critical component, can intensify its work to provide countries with the long-term capacity building support they need to implement the UN Global Counterterrorism Strategy.”
Saudi Arabia is said to be the world’s largest source of funds for Salafi jihadist terrorist militant groups, such as al-Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban.
Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers involved in the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States were citizens of Saudi Arabia.
The UNCCT, based at UN Headquarters in New York, was launched in 2011 with the help of a voluntary contribution from the Saudi Government. Operating under the UN Secretary-General and the umbrella of the Department of Political Affairs, the Centre contributes to the implementation of the Strategy and engages with over 30 entities with expertise on a wide range of counter-terrorism related subjects.
I take this as simply a payoff by the King of the Saudi kingdom for something they did but will never be made public.
Kerry is just another politically correct numbskull that denies facts readily apparent to much of the world.
This announcement is hypocrisy & nothing but political window dressing from the center of Islamic expansion and domination – the Saudi kingdom.
It would have been far more noticeable if they would have cut off funding to CAIR, Muslim student organizations on the campuses of our universities, the Muslim Brotherhood, & started moving Muslims out of Europe back to their home countries. While at it, they could persuade Islamic Turkey to acknowledge their part in the slaughter of 1,500,000 Christian Armenians in 1915.
We should limit expansion of Islam in our country until they can conclusively prove they no longer teach hate of infidels & Jews and the subjugation of women.
What a farce this is. If they really want to help they should stop training terrorist in their country. This is nothing but smoke and mirrors on their part.
