There was a corn on the cob eating contest, with the winner taking home a new 16″ or 20″ TV, North Iowa Youth Center Director Regan Banks said. “I might have to get in on that,” he joked.
Siblings William Mora, age 6, Daniel Mora, age 5 and Devanie Mora, age 3, of Mason City, “Are just having a ball,” said grandma Vicki. “They love playing in the balloons,” brought in by Banks.
OnSite Detail owners Cory Gerdts and brother-in-law Gabe Haugland were at the charity event, giving 100% of external car wash proceeds to the charities.
“We are doing a cheap, $10.00, all hand-washed charity car wash today,” said Gerdts. “It all gets donated to the charities here today. We will do other detailing work and part of those proceeds go to the charities as well, but we are trying to focus on the external car wash and get as many as we can.”
Ryan Fasbender was grilling hot dogs that were donated by Fareway of Clear Lake for the event.
