The Board of Supervisors of Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, met in special session pursuant to adjournment at
9:15 a.m. Present: Chairman Casey Callanan, Vice Chairwoman Lori Meacham Ginapp, Supervisor Chris Watts, and various members of the public.
The purpose of the meeting was to receive updates from the County Engineer and Finance Director.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at
9:30 a.m.
Various tabulations, reports, correspondence and other documents that were presented at today’s meeting are placed on file with the supplemental minutes.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
March 27, 2023
The Board of Supervisors of Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, met in regular session pursuant to adjournment. Present: Chairman Casey Callanan, Vice Chairwoman Lori Meacham Ginapp, Supervisor Chris Watts and various members of the public.
Chairman Callanan convened the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Meacham Ginapp moved with Watts seconding, to approve today’s agenda and the meeting minutes of the March 20, 2023 regular session and March 20, 2023 special session. Motion passed unanimously.
Public comment session was held.
Watts moved with Meacham Ginapp seconding, to approve claims. Motion passed unanimously.
Watts moved with Meacham Ginapp seconding, to grant Indigo Wind Right-of-Way Easement across Drainage District 65 and assess a crossing fee of $100. Motion passed unanimously.
Meacham Ginapp moved with Watts seconding, to authorize the Chair to sign Certificate of Cost Allocation Plan. Motion passed unanimously.
Watts moved with Meacham Ginapp seconding, to approve the 12-Month Class B Retail Alcohol License for Clear Lake Boats. Motion passed unanimously.
Chairman Callanan opened the public hearing for the Proposed Property Tax Levy at 10:05 a.m.
Watts moved with Meacham Ginapp seconding, to close the public hearing. Motion passed unanimously.
Watts moved with Meacham Ginapp seconding, to adopt Resolution 2023-31, WHEREAS, the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors have considered the proposed FY2023-2024 county maximum property tax dollars for both General County Services and Rural County Services, and WHEREAS, a notice concerning the proposed county maximum property tax dollars was published as required and posted on the county website and social media accounts, and WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the proposed county maximum property tax dollars was held on March 27, 2023. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors that the maximum property tax dollars for General County Services and Rural County Services for FY2023-2024 shall not exceed the following:
General County Services – $16,303,186
Rural County Services – $3,528,378
The Maximum Property Tax dollars requested in either General County Services or Rural County Services for FY2023-2024 represents an increase greater than 102% from the Maximum Property Tax dollars requested for FY2022-2023. Roll Call Vote: Meacham Ginapp- Aye; Watts- Aye; Callanan Aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Meacham Ginapp moved with Watts seconding, to set Public Hearing for FY24 Budget for April 10, 2023 at 10:05 a.m. Motion passed unanimously.
County Engineer Billings provided an update.
Meacham Ginapp moved with Watts seconding, to adjourn at 10:09 am. Motion passed unanimously.
