MASON CITY – A rural Mason City man was arrested on Friday driving violations.
Monte Dean Neubauer, 50, was arrested at at his home at 3:18 AM for driving while revoked, driving under suspension, no insurance and a valid warrant.
Neubauer faces an April 24th court hearing for probation revocation and is being held on $2,000.00 cash bond.
Neubauer had been charged with 2nd degree theft in February after working on a car for a local woman and then refusing to return it. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department had executed a search warrant at his property and declared that the vehicle was “hidden.” At a hearing on March 19th, the victim requested that charges be dropped and Judge Rustin Davenport did so. Neubauer owes $121.00 in court costs.
Neubauer plead guilty in February to driving while barred – habitual offender in Hamilton County. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and owes $1,243.75 in fines and court costs in the case. Records show that Neubauer posted a $5,000 bond from A 1 Bail Bonds and is now appealing. No court date has yet been set.
Also in February, Neubauer was on the scene where a horse was struggling to survive, riding an ATV vehicle. He approached a group of concerned citizens in an aggressive manner that day, agitated at their presence.
