GARNER — Jesse E. Pringnitz, 58, of Garner, died Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Apple Valley Place in Charles City.
A memorial visitation was held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 23, at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St. in Garner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hancock County Fair.
Jesse Eugene Pringnitz was born June 28, 1968, in Britt, the son of Dale and Jane Charbonneaux Pringnitz. He grew up on a farm south of Garner and graduated from Britt High School in 1986.
He continued his education at Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, where he studied in the automotive technician program.
Jesse married Angela Ruter on June 17, 1989, in Kanawha. They made their home on the Pringnitz family farm west of Garner, where they raised their children, Kelsi and Jake.
Agriculture, machinery and working with his hands remained important parts of Jesse’s life.
Over the years, he worked at T & R Repair, Power Pro and Circle H Implement. He also raised hogs with his brother, Jerry.
Jesse eventually started Pringnitz Custom, providing custom spraying and snow removal services, and later began farming on his own.
Away from work, Jesse enjoyed truck and tractor pulling, farming and showing pigs with his children. His life remained closely tied to agriculture and the rural North Iowa community where he was raised.
He was a member of Garner United Methodist Church and the Garner Lions Club.
Jesse is survived by his daughter, Kelsi Tobin and her friend, Tom Bannwarth, of Mitchell, South Dakota, and Kelsi’s daughter, Jewel, with another child on the way; and his son, Jake Pringnitz and his wife, Nicole, of Garner, and their children, Beau and Gentry, with another child on the way.
He is also survived by Angela Pringnitz of Garner; his siblings, Chris Jackson and her husband, Eric, Jerry Pringnitz and his wife, Karrie, and Roy Hrubes and his wife, Jami; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Pringnitz, who died in 2016, and Jane Pringnitz, who died in 2023.
