MASON CITY – Skies are partly cloudy and the sun is bright Sunday afternoon, but according to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, North Iowa is in for a heavy snowfall.
A two part winter storm will produce moderate snow tonight and last until Monday morning. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. this evening, the Alternate Side Parking Ordinance and Emergency Snow Route will go into effect in Mason City in anticipation of this snowfall.
The second part of the storm is slated to arrive Monday night through Tuesday. This could be heavier snowfall totals.
The warning is set for midnight tonight through noon Tuesday.
