CLEAR LAKE – Shortly before 12:39 PM Wednesday afternoon, an alert neighbor noticed an unknown truck parked at an acreage in the 9000 block of 300th Street to the north of Clear Lake.
When Cerro Gordo County Deputies arrived on scene they encountered 53-year-old Arlo Victor Hoft of Northwood and 49-year-old Tony Lewis Baysinger of Hampton loading property from the residence into a truck.
Neither of the men knew the home owner or had permission to be on the property. Both men were arrested and transported to Cerro Gordo County Jail.
Both men were charged with Class D felony counts of 2nd degree theft for possessing stolen property with a value between $1,000 and $10,000.
Tony Baysinger posted a 5,000 cash or surety bond a short time later. Arlo Hoft was released Thursday on his own recognizance following an initial appearance to the charge.
In recent months law enforcement has seen a spree or thefts and burglaries of local acreages. The public is asked to report any suspicious activity.

Well If they where on someone else’s property stealing other’s belonging’s then they deserve a bullet or two or three in the head. All there is to it. no long waiting period’s at the court’s, no big tax dollars spent on free attorney’s, and no long term care in prison system. end of subject(S)
If JUDGE COLLEEN WEILAND has anything to do with their cases, these criminals will have all of the charges dropped. NOTHING will happen to them.

I drive the gravel roads nightly and it seems Ive seen that baysinger guy. Does anyone familiar with these guys know if he drives a white truck by any chance? If so, Ive seen him driving on the rural south side of clear lake before.
