MASON CITY – A Mason City man was sentenced Tuesday to a fine after an assault at a local bar.
Luke Andrew Chodur, 39, fled the scene after he allegedly assaulted a Mason City woman at Sportsman’s Lounge on September 4th, 2012 at about 9:37 PM.
On Tuesday, October 30th, 2012, Chodur received $300 fine from Judge Patrick Byrne for his crime. He owes a total of $562.50 to the courts in this case.
Chodur has a lengthy criminal record that includes domestic abuse with a weapon, contempt of court, violation of probation, assault causing injury on a peace officer, controlled substance violations, traffic violations including driving on the wrong side of the road and striking an unattended vehicle and reckless driving, domestic abuse assault (charges dismissed by Judge Colleen Weiland), 5th degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct/fighting (charges dismissed by Judge Colleen Weiland), other domestic abuse charges, and other charges.

NIT, Judge Weiland is going to feel like you’re ganging up on her. LOL I do wonder if the domestic assault was dismissed because the victim refused to cooperate. Sometimes that happens. (I am NOT defending this guy!)
It would be scary to be a judge handing down sentences to some of these nasty criminals. Seriously, I would not want her job or a DA’s job unless I had personal protection. But I still would be a lot tougher on criminals.

This is totally wrong. This guy has no common sense and obviously all of his past troubles in the court room hanen,t taken hold. Either make the fines much greater or give him three notes da cot.
