Hanft
“COVID-19 is still very much a threat in our area,” states Brian Hanft, health director for CG Public Health. “Combine COVID-19 and seasonal flu and we are looking at a potentially deadly scenario for our community and a financially catastrophic scenario for our economy. This year it is more important than ever that people get their flu vaccines, and we wanted to make sure we gave the public ample opportunities to do so.”

Cloth facial coverings or face masks will be required at all times, and social distancing measures and extra sanitization practices will be implemented. If you are feeling ill, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please do not come to the flu clinic.

Symptoms for COVID-19 include:
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fever, or chills, or repeated shaking with chills
Muscle or body aches
Headache
Sore throat
New loss of taste or smell
Runny nose
Congestion
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea

To be as efficient as possible CG Public Health asks that you bring a paper copy of your insurance card for each individual receiving their vaccine. CG Public Health accepts most major health insurances. With insurance, no money will be collected at the time of the vaccination; services are billed directly to insurance. Any remaining balance is billed to the client after insurance has paid for its portion. Uninsured or underinsured children may be eligible for a free vaccine through the Vaccines for Children program.

The flu vaccine is recommended for anyone 6 months of age and older. Regular doses and age 65+ high doses will be available. “These clinics are open to everyone,” states Hanft, “We are encouraging young and old to come and get their flu shot. It is our goal to keep our communities as safe and healthy as possible this flu season. The only way we can do that is by vaccinating as many people within our communities as we can.”
