I am proud to say that today is the two year birthday of NorthIowaToday.com.
I’d just like to take a moment to thank those that visit and read NIT. Your presence here helps drive me and the NIT staff everyday. The persistent communication and dialogue from the many people interested in seeing and reading news from a new angle has helped make NIT a huge success. NIT would not be here without all of you.
I’d also like to thank our loyal advertisers and the new ones, too. Since the beginning, I knew there was a market for advertising and helping businesses promote themselves at a reasonable cost- a cost you won’t typically find at other media outlets. It’s been my pleasure to assist in making your businesses a success.
I would also like to thank our new subscribers. I announced this summer that NIT would require subscriptions in order for visitors to have full access to all the content on NIT. That system was launched September 1, 2012. I am pleased to say that NIT is approaching 200 subscribers in just 30 days and I expect that number to continue to grow steadily. Our subscribers further motivate me and the NIT staff to work hard everyday and deliver information, stories, photos and videos consistently. Every time a new subscriber comes on board, I feel very proud of our work here.
Last but not least, I would like to thank my freelance staff that has been so dedicated and grew right along with NIT. I would like to single out Jody Spear and Kelly Meyer. Thank you so very much for your hard work and your ability to learn and improve. I have gotten so many compliments about both of you; I am very proud to have you represent NIT.
As NIT enters its third year, expect the same hard-hitting news, photos and videos. You can be certain that I will be working hard to improve and build NIT everyday. The news can be a tough business and you don’t get any days off. But I enjoy the challenge and will continue to deliver all that I can to our readers.

Matt I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU!! You report the Truth, not like some of the other “news” media in the area. They ad lib their stories to make them sound better not caring that the stories that they write ruin peoples lives. I will always read your stories because they are the truth.
You should be proud; you have changed the landscape of North Iowa. The very best to you, it will only get better.

Matt, you folks do a great job and you never stop digging, reporting and learning. My video cam rides with me all the time and if there’s news I see, I’m always glad to get it to your readers. Thanks for treating me fair as well on the stories you’ve done in regards to my business as well.
