MASON CITY – At approximately 5:43 PM Monday evening, the Mason City Fire Department was dispatched to 610 11th St NE.
The resident made the call and informed that everybody was out of the house.
It was reported that light, white smoke was coming out of a vent in the attic roof. No flames were showing.
At the scene, the firefighters were investigating the whereabouts of the source of smoke. They had requested that the electricity be turned off. They were breaking through a small portion of the lower roof.
Fire Chief Bob Platts was at the location at 6:15 pm to help investigate.
No other information was available at the time.
