IOWA FALLS, Iowa – NIACC softball has broken through.
The NIACC Trojans won their first conference game of the season during game two in a split with Ellsworth, 3-4 and 9-3.
Beth Mildenhall (Fr., Eldora, IA), Cassie Pappas (Fr., Mason City, IA), Krista Grutz (Fr., Dubuque, IA), and Lisa Jorgenson (Fr., Rockwell, IA) all had two RBI in game two. Mildenhall led the way in that game with three hits.
The Trojans (11-27, 1-23 in the ICCAC) scored two runs in the second, fourth, fifth, and seventh innings to give Jessica Robinett (Fr., Maxwell, IA) the win.
The Panthers (19-30, 8-16 in the ICCAC) took game one with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Kaylor Tiffany (Fr., Cornville, AZ) brought in all of NIACC’s runs in the top of the sixth to equalize the score.
NIACC will host the DMACC Bears in two games starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the NIACC campus. They will finish the regular season at home with a doubleheader against Marshalltown Community College on Sunday.
