The Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board ROW Vegetation Management staff will be giving away a portion of its stockpile of wood chips at Lime Creek Nature Center April 9-13. Chips will be loaded into trailers or trucks with the assistance of a tractor at 7:45 am and 3:30 pm each day. Smaller quantities may be loaded by hand. A limited supply is available to the public so individiuals interested in wood chips must contact the Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board at (641) 423-5309 to reserve a day and time for pick up.
Other updates:
- As of Friday, March 23, 2012, the dock is in and the gate is open at Bluebill Wildlife Area.
- Effective immediately, the Trolley Trail between Mason City and Clear Lake has been swept and is open for the season.
- Effective immediately, all designated trails at Lime Creek Conservation Area are open to foot, horse and bicycle traffic.
- The Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board has set Friday, May 4, 2012 as the tentative opening date for all three county campgrounds depending on weather conditions.
