Ceramics at the MacNider Opens at the MacNider Art Museum

Ceramics at the MacNider, a competitive exhibition highlighting ceramic works created in the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum’s Ceramic Studio, opens on Friday, January 27 at 9 a.m. The competition was open to anyone who created and fired a ceramic piece in the Museum’s Ceramic Studio. Thirty-five ceramic pieces created by twenty artists were chosen for the final show.

An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held for Ceramics at the MacNider on Saturday, February 4 at 1 p.m. Awards will be announced at 1:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at in two categories, 18 & Under and Adult. First Prize in the 18 & Under category will be a free class at the Museum. Two Honorable Mentions will each receive a $10 gift certificate to use toward a Museum class. First Prize in the Adult category is a free one-year studio pass. Two Honorable Mentions will each receive a free bag of clay. The opening reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

Ceramics at the MacNider will be on display through Saturday, March 31. The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is FREE and open to the public. Regular museum hours are: Tuesday – Saturday 9 am – 5 pm; Thursdays 9 am – 9 pm; closed Sunday – Monday.
