Blake Lobdell, born and raised in Belmond and a long-time teacher at Clear Lake High School passed away suddenly at the age of 50 years old. Two of Blake’s greatest passions were teaching and bowling. A Blake Lobdell Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to honor Mr. Lobdell and his passion for kids.
A Bowl-A-Thon will be held to help fund this Scholarship at the Rose Bowl in Mason City, Iowa. Pick one of the following days and plan to attend.

10 am – 4 pm All lanes available
4 pm – 6 pm NO BOWLING – (Lane Maintenance)
6 pm – 9 pm Limited lane availability due to league play
9 pm – midnight – All lanes available
There are two options for your bowling:
Option #1
This is a great option for individuals or families that just want to bowl and have fun and make a contribution to the scholarship fund.
- $10 Entry fee paid to the Rose Bowl – Includes 3 games and shoe rental
- $5 of the entry fee goes directly to the Blake Lobdell Scholarship Fund
Option #2
Use of pledge or sponsor form (these are located on the website www.bowlingforblake.com)
- $5 paid to Rose Bowl for 3 games and shoe rental
- Bring completed sponsor form with you the day you bowl.
We will make a copy of the form and bowling score. You will get your form back and then you are expected to collect from your sponsors
All monies collected are due no later than January 6th and can be returned to:
