Dennis Wayne Moffitt, the son of Dale and Lorraine (Oddson) Moffitt, was born on December 16, 1947, in Estherville, Iowa. He died on March 26, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville at the age of 77 years.
Dennis graduated from Jackson High School in 1966. He married Donna Torreson on July 14, 1968 and to this union, two daughters were born, Kristen and Kellie. The couple later divorced. On January 1, 1980, Dennis married LeAnn Domino and to this union, one more daughter was born, Melissa.
Dennis worked as a welder for AgCo for 31 years, retiring in 2019. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the sprint car races, watching YouTube videos, and bugging his grandchildren. Dennis was a professional ice cream eater, was well trained by his dogs, and prided himself on his very dry sense of humor. He was also known for his Dennis-isms.
He is survived by his daughters, Kris (Brad Held) Endreson, Kellie (Jerry Jackson) Mortenson, and Melissa (Terry) Gatton; 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Annie) Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Emily (Ben) Larsen, Riley Endreson, Kady Mortenson, and Clayton Mortenson; 7 great-grandchildren, Eli, Maggie, Sutton, Elliott, Waylon, Kendal and Mya; 7 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Robert (Lonnie) Moffitt, Donna Barnhart, Allan (Sandi) Moffitt and Michael (Bobbi) Smith; three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, LeAnn Moffitt, parents, Dale Moffitt and Lorraine and Linus Smith, two sisters, Pat Shriver and Ann Smith, and a brother, Marion Smith.
