Rebecca Arlene Loftis, 68, of Manly, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Rebecca was born on December 22, 1956, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, to Robert and Vera (Benson) Spencer. The love she had for her family and friends was unwavering and unconditional. A proud and devoted mother, Rebecca’s greatest joy was raising her three children. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and deeply treasured her role as a grandmother.
Rebecca had a strong work ethic. Her dedication and commitment to work was unmatched. She continued to work 7 days a week, until her brief hospital stay, just a few weeks ago. Rebecca was an independent contractor and worked for several different companies throughout her 40+ years as a courier. While traveling across Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, with devotion and care, she made many strong friendships that meant the world to her.
In her free time, Rebecca liked going to auctions and thrift stores to hunt for bargains and treasures. Her love for shoes was undeniable, as she owned over 100 pair. She would frequently visit Diamond Jo Casino and went to Las Vegas, in August, with her family. But most of all she loved being a grandmother and watching her grandchildren grow. She was a loving and doting grandmother who was proud of the people they had become.
Rebecca is survived by her children: Brandy Choate, Gary (Julie) Harms, and Shannon Walker; her beloved grandchildren: Patrick, Gavin, Aubry, Kenadi, Alexander; her bonus grandchildren Alexia (Matt), Racee, Justin (Hailey) and her great-grandchildren, Dax and Axton; her sister, Diane Rice; numerous extended family members and friends; and her loyal golden doodle, Charlie and her beloved schweenie, Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vera; grandparents; aunts and uncles; numerous close friends; and her niece, Jennifer Jo Fields.
Rebecca’s family will remember her as a loving, dedicated, and vibrant woman who brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 2:00 pm on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City with Pastor Beverly Butler. Following the service, a lunch will be held in the Denison Room at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel. Inurnment will follow at a future date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to Rebecca’s service at the funeral home on Monday.
