JOHNSON COUNTY – A young man with a bright future lost his life in an auto crash on a busy Iowa Interstate highway.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on the early morning of November 16, 2024. At 12:36 AM at the 5 mile marker of Interstate 380, a 2013 Hyundai Azera was being driven southbound by 17-year-old Kaden A. Blair of Swisher, Iowa. The Azera went off the roadway and struck a concrete barrier. It then caught fire.
Blair was ejected and did not survive the crash. According to an obituary, “he was enrolled in the Pre-med program at the University of Iowa, aspiring to become a surgeon. He was a fiercely smart and determined young man.”
A Gofundme was launched in the wake of the tragic accident; the link is here. It says the proceeds would be used to sponsor a student in the pre-med program in Kaden’s honor.
