Mary Kinsey, daughter of Thomas and Betty (Tindall) Millea, was born on September 4, 1960 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away on October 28, 2024, at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa at the age of 64.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 10:00AM – 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 503 W Olive Street, in GRAETTINGER.
Mary attended and graduated from Graettinger High School in 1979. Following graduation, she attended College of St. Mary’s in Omaha. Mary obtained her respiratory therapy degree and worked at various healthcare facilities. On August 30, 1990, she was united in marriage to Chris Kinsey in a backyard ceremony in Des Moines, Iowa. Mary was diagnosed with aphasia in 2013, because of her disability she became a resident of Eastern Star Masonic Home in February of 2023.
Mary was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Granger. Mary was a very caring person and enjoyed volunteering. She volunteered with the Polk City Library Board and Polk City Woman’s Club. She was a hard worker and enjoyed her respiratory patients. Fitness was a major part of Mary’s life, she especially enjoyed walking and yoga. Mary was always up for a good laugh and had a great sense of humor. Mary loved and cared for her family and friends deeply, enjoying special times with them. She also adored spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and dogs.
Mary is survived by her husband Chris Kinsey of Polk City; her daughters Paige (Cody) Moeckly of Slater and Roxanne (Johnny) Smith of Morning Sun; and her grandchildren Quinlyn, Traeger, and Toas Smith, Audrey, Cash, and Maylin Moeckly. She is also survived by her mother Betty Millea of Graettinger; mother-in-law Shirley Jean Kinsey; siblings Tim (Beth) Millea, John (Beth) Millea, Mike (Dori) Millea, Dan (Jackie) Millea, and Katie Millea; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mary is preceded in death by her father Thomas Millea; father-in-law Orval Kinsey, and brother-in-law Steven Kinsey.
