MASON CITY – A single vehicle accident Saturday in Mason City was due to a medical emergency, Mason City police said today.
According to police, the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision suffered an undisclosed medical emergency near the intersection of 15th Street SE and Carolina Avenue at about 2 PM.
The driver “was located and stopped,” police said. Paramedics also responded to the scene.
A bystander had indicated that the driver had struck a utility pole.
The name of the person involved is withheld.
