FORT DODGE – Firefighters raced to the scene of a fully-engulfed trailer in Fort Dodge, but the structure was destroyed.
On October 6, 2024, Fort Dodge firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the Coleman district. Upon arrival, incident commander reported to responding fire units that a mobile home was heavily involved with fire and that a garage exposure was on fire as well.
Upon arriving on the scene, firefighters pulled two hose lines and began extinguishing the fire. Simultaneously, firefighters forced entry into the rear of the structure to search for any victims. The fire was knocked down quickly and no victims or animals were found within the residence.
Firefighters were on scene for approximately 2 hours. No injuries were reported. FDFD was assisted by Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Webster County Law Enforcement Center Dispatch, and MidAmerican Energy.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
