WASHINGTON – On Friday, August 29, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will travel to North Liberty, Iowa, to hold an Investing in America Town Hall.
There, he will discuss efforts by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to create additional income opportunities for producers and entrepreneurs by building more, new, and better markets; providing more options for consumers to buy healthy, locally produced products; investing in rural infrastructure and creating new revenue streams; and strengthening local and regional supply chains. Secretary Vilsack will also highlight how the Biden-Harris Administration is continuing to strengthen rural America by building the economy from the bottom up and middle out to create more opportunities for rural families, small businesses, and farmers to build a good life in the communities that they love.
