WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump on Wednesday terminated a commission on ‘election integrity’ using an Executive Order.
Back on May 11, President Trump issued an Executive Order for the Establishment of a “Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity” after he claimed voter fraud cost him the popular vote in the 2016 election. There was little or no proof offered. He lost by nearly 3 million votes.
Reports out Wednesday say the commission accomplished little or nothing. According to the White House, “Despite substantial evidence of voter fraud, many states have refused to provide the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity with basic information relevant to its inquiry. Rather than engage in endless legal battles at taxpayer expense, today President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order to dissolve the Commission, and he has asked the Department of Homeland Security to review its initial findings and determine next courses of action.”
California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said, “Donald Trump’s “Election Integrity” commission was built to encourage and enable voter suppression. Every American who cares about the right to vote should breathe a sigh of relief now that it no longer exists.”
