Gary Pascoe left us on March 11th, 2024, to be with his wife Deanna in heaven.
Graveside Inurnment services will be held at 10:30 Friday, May 10, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Officiating will be Rev Melanie Greengo of the First United Methodist Church. A gathering for friends and family will be Thursday, May 9th at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd ST SE, Mason City,
Gary and Deanna were married for 44 years and they were the parents of 4 children. Jeff (Kelly) Burton, Ohio, Amy (Pascoe) Simpson (Rob) Mason City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife Deanna (2001) and his two boys James and Joel (1964), His father Archie (1985) and his mother Grace (1984).
Gary, was born and raised in Mason City and spent the majority of his work career at
Interstate Power as a Meter Reader and Service Technician. Gary spent his formative years working on the many vehicles that he owned beginning with a 41 Chevrolet back in the 50’s. His crowning achievement was his Studebaker called the “Olive” that he had entered in the North Iowa Car Show in the late 50’s. Gary had a definite passion for cars of all types (including Corvettes). He turned this passion into a very talented skill in Auto body and paint. He worked in a body shop most nights while working a fulltime job to add extra income to the family. Hard work was always that Gary was a part of and made up his personality.
On the home front, Gary became extremely proficient in carpentry by redesigning and rebuilding several of the homes that he and Deanna owned. This led to Gary and Deanna designing and building their dream home on Clear Lake. When Deanna became ill, they sold the lake home and purchased their current home on Willowbrook Drive.
Gary was a long-time fan of anything Frank Lloyd Wright and was fortunate to work alongside his life- long friend Gunther Hugo and the team at Hugo builders on some projects within the Park Inn Hotel in downtown Mason City. This passion also carried over to his redesign of his personal house on Willowbrook Drive with a Frank Lloyd Wright theme both internally and externally.
Gary was fortunate to have received the love of many friends over the years and he spoke of them often. A special thank you goes out to Dave and Kris Christianson and Dean and Jeannie Johnson, for their friendship with Gary over the years.
Gary was a long-time donor to St Jude’s Hospital and in place of flowers feel free to support that organization, The American Cancer Society and any Veterans and First Responder charities. That would mean so much to him.
