Glenn Edward Landers, age 83, of Greene, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Greene is caring for Glenn and his family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, 519 N First St, Greene. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Glenn was born at home on the family farm on October 20, 1940, in Greene, IA to Ernest and Ella (Heuer) Landers. He graduated from Greene in 1959. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene. Glenn farmed on the family farm his entire life. He also had his own business, “Landers German Shepherds.” Glenn started raising German shepherds in his adolescence; he really loved his dogs.
Glenn was an avid fisherman and even took a few fishing trips to Canada with his cousins. He liked car races, figure 8 races, tractor pulls and attending county fairs. Glenn enjoyed watching sports. He collected old western books, toy farm tractors and baseball cards.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Tami (Trent) Stalzer and Shawn Landers; grandchildren: Madison (Jaysen) Campbell, Karsyn Stalzer, Camden Stalzer, Aiden Stalzer, Autumn Landers and Alex Landers and great-grandchildren: Hayes Campbell, Jackson Landers and Cruz Landers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ella Landers and son, Terry Landers.
