MASON CITY – Two Mason City women were hospitalized after an auto accident in town.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Monday morning, October 23, 2023. At 6:35 AM, a 2014 Nissan driven by 48-year-old Melissa Reson of Mason City was northbound on Taft Avenue in Mason City. The patrol says Reson failed to stop at the stop light at 4th Street SW and and was struck by a westbound 2014 Volkswagen driven by 48-year-old Candis Miller of Mason City. Miller’s VW then collided with a 2020 Jeep driven by 29-year-old Marissa Jenkins of Algona.
As a result of the collision, Reson and Miller were injured and transported by ambulance to Mercy One Hospital. Jenkins was not injured.
