Larry Gene Bryant, son of Howard and Helen (Witt) Bryant was born on June 24,1950 in Estherville,Iowa. He passed away unexpectedly from what was believed to be a heart attack. He was 72 at the time of his death at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

As per Larry’s wishes there will be no formal services. He wanted everyone to remember him (fondly,of course) from the friendships and interactions he shared with everyone in day to day life.

Larry attended Estherville schools and graduated from Estherville High School. He then went on to get a degree in Auto Body Repair and owned an auto repair shop for a number of years. In the eighties he switched to truck driving. He worked for Holiday Express in Estherville for many years. He became an owner operator while there. He left Holiday and leased onto MidAmerica Transport in Estherville. He was actively leased to MidAmerica at the time of his passing.

Larry enjoyed talking and kidding with other drivers/friends/family when on the road. He felt it made the time and miles go by faster. He loved having his trusted sidekick Snoopy Sue along for the ride for over 13 years.

Larry was united in marriage to Cassie on February 28th,1990 in Reno,Nevada. He passed away eight days before celebrating their 33 year wedding anniversary. Together they have one daughter Joan and Larry’s stepson Paul (Dawn) and grandkids Jake and Lily. He was extremely proud of Jake and Lily’s accomplishments in sports and loved to expound on them to anyone willing to listen. He looked forward to the yearly Thanksgiving visits with Paul, Dawn and the kids.

Larry shared a love of sports with his daughter Joan. He always said she knew more about the Twins and Vikings than he did. They went to many Twins games together. They would schedule Twins and Viking games on tv and make sure they were able to watch them together. If their team was winning you would hear shouts of laughter and joy. If not, Joan would say she forgot to take care of something and Larry would be snoring in his recliner. In the summer when home, Larry would spend his time mowing and mowing and mowing. He enjoyed when Cass would show up with lunch, dessert and, a big container of unsweetened iced tea.

Larry is survived by his immediate family; Cassie, Joan, Paul, Dawn, Jake and Lily. His sisters Joann and Betty. His nephews Tim, Paul, Scott and Jim along with their children. Niece Marsha and her children. Children of deceased nephew Jeff.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, two brother-in-laws, Loren and Elmer. One brother, Gale and two nephews, Jeff and Kevin.
