THORNTON, IOWA – Two people were hospitalized after a Tuesday morning auto accident near Thornton.
On January 14, 2020 at 7:29 AM, an accident occurred at the intersection of 150th and Grouse Avenue, the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says. A 2015 Black Cadillac driven by Jennifer Klein, 45 of Thornton, Iowa, was westbound on 150th Street approaching the intersection with Grouse Avenue. A 2009 Silver Dodge Durango driven by Amy Fisher, 44 of Clear Lake, Iowa, was traveling southbound on Grouse. Klein failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with Fisher’s vehicle.
As a result of the collision, both drivers were taken to Mercy One in Mason City for further evaluation.
There were no passengers in either vehicles. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The case remains under investigation with the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department.
