Northern Iowa man faces attempted murder charge for knifing another dude

FAYETTE COUNTY – A fight between two men got out of hand and after one of the perpetrators armed himself with a knife, cops hunted him down on a charge of attempted murder.

On September 28, 2021, at approximately 8:00 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of two males arguing in the 2000 block of Willow Rd. Through an investigation it was learned 49-year-old Brian Beesecker of Fairbank had gotten into a verbal altercation with another male. The altercation turned physical, Beesecker armed himself and attempted to stab the other male. Both males fled the scene prior to Law Enforcements’ arrival. An arrest warrant for attempted murder was issued for Beesecker and he was later apprehended and taken into custody by Blackhawk County Sheriff’s Office. Beesecker was transported to Fayette County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Blackhawk County Sheriff’s Office, Buchannan County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Police Department, and Iowa State Patrol. This incident remains under investigation and more charges may be filed.
