Mason City shooting incident proves to be false

MASON CITY – Mason City police responded to fake shooting incident Haloween evening.

On Thursday, October 31, 2019 at around 6:15 pm, Mason City Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of N. Madison Ave for a report of a shooting incident. Officers responded to the area and determined that the reported shooting was a hoax. The Police Department was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation/Motor Vehicle Enforcement and Mason City Fire Department.

The situation remains under investigation anyone with information is asked to call the Mason City Police Department.

halloween is shameful. all those children dressing as false idols spitting in the face of our good lord and celebrating satan and dark forces. lol no fvck christians and fvck idiots who think causing this type of panic is funny. you have no idea who you could effect or how with shit like this. could have flipped out some poor vet. possibly gotten a ccw or open carry citizen shot by someone or a jumpy nervous cop. or even caused an unrelated incident in the area to escalate like a domestic abuse in progress abuser assumes cops are for him and meth tells him hes got nothing to lose. just a million variables you cant imagine. throwing a rock in a pond creates ripples that affect the entire surface of that water. people are so inconsiderate.

This was a Bullshit FAKE call that ruined Halloween for a lot of kids. They all disappeared when they saw the guns come out. That is not to mention that every law enforcement officer in the area was called in to help.
