ONEIDA COUNTY, IDAHO – Authorities in Idaho say a former Mason City man has died in their state following a car crash.
The Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 2:49 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, eastbound on I84 near mile marker 269, north of Snowville, Utah. They report that former Mason City resident Alan Edgar Gage, age 84, was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot with an 82-year-old female passenger eastbound on I84 when the vehicle travelled into the median where it overcorrected and rolled before it came to rest on the right-hand shoulder.
Tragically, Alan Edgar Gage succumbed to his injuries on scene while the passenger was taken via ground ambulance to a local hospital.
“The driver was wearing a seatbelt,” state police reported, and both Gage and his passenger were now from Seattle, Washington.
Idaho State Police was assisted by Snowville, Utah EMS and Snowville, Utah Fire.
This incident remained under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
