David Lee Shropshire, 48 of Garner, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Hospital Methodist Campus in Rochester, MN.

A funeral service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson, Iowa, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. with Rachel Eggum Cinader officiating.

Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the church on Saturday.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson, IA.

David Lee Shropshire was born on February 7, 1977 to Joyce and Chuck Shropshire. Dave had two brothers: Chuck Jr. and Cory. They lived in Hayfield for five years and then moved to Crystal Lake. Dave went to school in Garner for 1 year and then in Crystal Lake until he graduated.

Dave married Kristie Tripp on June 28, 2008 and they had two boys together; Brigg and Brody. They lived in Klemme for 14 years and most recently they resided in Garner.

Dave worked at Winnebago Industries and IMT for several years and later worked for his uncle at the Thompson Lumberyard for 15 years.

Dave had a terrific ability to make people laugh and he got along with everyone. He had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and friend. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kristie; his children, Araiha, Brigg, and Brody; his mother and father, Joyce and Chuck Sr.; brother, Chuck Jr (Darcy); father and mother-in-law, Rod and Linda Tripp; brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Penny Lawrence; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by many other family members and loving friends.

Dave is being greeted by family lost before him including his grandparents: both Shropshire and Cooper; his brother, Cory; his uncle, Gary Shropshire; and his niece, Ashley.
