CLEAR LAKE – Bennett Smith, a candidate for second ward city council n Clear Lake, announced this week that he has officially submitted the required paperwork to be on the ballot.
“I officially submitted the required paperwork and nomination petitions for the Second Ward city council seat in Clear Lake, IA on August 30th at the Cerro Gordo County Auditor’s office that is required to be on the ballot for this fall’s election. I will look forward to the fall campaign.

Bennett Smith is an instructor in history and political science at North Iowa Area Community College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in speech communication and a Master of Arts degree in history from Iowa State University.
Bennett Smith announced his candidacy on August 16.
