Clear Lake woman hurt in auto accident Thursday

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Clear Lake woman was hurt in an auto accident in rural Cerro Gordo county Thursday afternoon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the two-car accident happened Thursday, August 31 at around 1:41 PM. Wilma Anderson, age 70 of Lake Mills, was northbound on S-18 south of B-20 in a 1998 Buick 4-door vehicle. At the same time, Tami Nelson, age 53 of Forest City, was driving a 2012 Ford Aerotech bus eastbound on B-20, west of S-18. Nelson failed to yield from the stop sign at the intersection of S-18 and B-20 and struck Anderson’s Buick in the driver’s side door. Both units spun in the intersection.

As a result, 52-year-old Teresa Meling of Clear Lake, a passenger in the Buick, was injured. She was wearing a seat belt, a report says, but there was no word on the extent of her injuries or whether she was hospitalized.
