CHARLES CITY — A local man remains in custody following a trespassing call last month that led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. On March 29, 2026, at approximately 5:48 p.m., officers with the Charles City Police Department responded to the 600 block of South Main Street to investigate a report of a possible trespassing violation.

Upon arrival, officers identified the subject as 39-year-old Frank Leslie of Charles City. During the encounter, Leslie was arrested for a third-offense trespassing violation. According to police reports, a subsequent search revealed that Leslie was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. While the trespassing charge was filed immediately, additional charges related to the narcotics and paraphernalia are currently pending, and he awaits a May 8 arraignment in court.

Following the initial incident, Leslie (pictured at top) was officially booked into the Floyd County Jail on the afternoon of April 5, 2026. Jail records indicate that he remains in custody as of April 20, 2026. The case continues to be under review as authorities finalize the pending drug-related charges.
