IOWA FALLS – A man was found dead Thursday morning in the Iowa River in Iowa Falls.
On July 27, 2017, at 10:49 AM, the Iowa Falls Police Department received a report of an unresponsive male in the Iowa River near the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue, Iowa Falls. The male was removed from the Iowa River by Emergency Responders and pronounced deceased by the Hardin County Medical Examiner. An autopsy at the State Medical Examiner’s Office has been ordered to determine the cause of death. A preliminary investigation was conducted at the scene where nothing suspicious was determined.
The identity of the 67-year-old male will not be released until family members have been notified.
The Iowa Falls Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Falls Fire Department, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the Hardin County Emergency Squad, AMR Ambulance Service, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
