MASON CITY – A wanted, paroled felon who has fled police before did it again this week before he was taken to jail.
Law enforcement located 28-year-old Nicholas Jon Wilmarth Tuesday afternoon outside Mason City. Wilmarth refused to stop at first and attempted to elude. He was eventually stopped near Spruce Avenue and 200th Street and arrested on a warrant connected to a parole violation. He was also charged with eluding and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wilmarth was taken to the county jail and held on no bond. He was sent to prison back in 2013 on felony burglary charges. Before he was tried in that case, he fled officers back in December of 2012 as they investigated a car burglary.
Wilmarth is also set for sentencing in June on a charge of interference with official acts causing bodily injury.
