Minnesota man cited after running red light in Charles City and causing traffic accident with injuries

CHARLES CITY – A Minnesota man was cited Tuesday after running a red light in Charles City and causing a traffic accident with injuries.

The accident took place April 18, 2017 just after noon at Brantingham and Clark Streets in Charles City. According to Charles City police, a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by 48-year-old Anthony Zafft of Canton, Minnesota ran a red light striking a 2000 Buick driven by 90-year-old Marie Daley of Charles City. Daley then struck a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer driven by 36-yea-old Zachary Sullivan of Charles City.

As a result of the collision, Zafft was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Police say injured parties were transported from the scene by ambulance.

There was around $8,000 combined damage done to all vehicles.

The street was closed down for a short time.
