HAMPTON – Iowa Senate candidate Shawn Dietz announced a meet and greet event for his campaign, this is set for early net week.

Dietz, who is running for the District 27 Iowa Senate seat held by Amanda Ragan of Mason City, will be at Clayton’s Bakery, 115 East Traer Street in Greene at 7:00 PM on February 10th.

“I look forward to doing a lot of events like this throughout the campaign,” Dietz said in announcing his first event as an announced candidate. “It is very important to me that our campaign reaches out and touches as many voters in the 27th Senate District as possible. I’m very pleased that Clayton’s Bakery has agreed to host such an event that will hopefully allow me to hear the questions and concerns of folks in and around northern Butler County.”

Shawn Dietz is the former Mayor of Hampton, and has spent the past four years working for a locally owned and operated media company in Hampton, currently serving as Program Director. In 2008, Shawn and his family personally felt the economic collapse that gripped the nation as the glass coatings factory where he spent four years as a quality control technician closed its doors.

Dietz was raised in the Butler County community of Dumont, Shawn graduated from Hampton-Dumont High School in 2000, and received an Associate in Science Degree, majoring in Sales and Marketing from North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in Mason City. Shawn and his wife, Alexis continue to live in Hampton where they are raising their three children.
