Mackenzie Meyer goes 0-5 from field in 2-point loss to Michigan

MAKENZIE MEYER

ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN – The Iowa women’s basketball team lost by just 2 points to Michigan in a road contest Sunday, and a former Mohawk missed all her shots from the field.

Mackenzie Meyer was 0-5 from the field, including all three 3-point shots that mis-fired. She did chip in 2 rebounds an assist, a steal and 2 turnovers in 28 minutes of game action.

Three Hawkeyes scored in double figures. They include: Gustafson (23), Disterhoft (14), Davis (12). Disterhoft’s 14 points moved her past former Hawkeye Lindsey Meder (1998-2002; 1,906 points) into second place on Iowa’s all-time career scoring list. Disterhoft now has 1,910 career points. Gustafson registered her 12th double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds. It marked the 21st double-double of her career.

Iowa (14-9) led 45-33 at the half, but Michigan (19-5) clawed back late to win the game behind a 20-9 fourth quarter surge.
