MASON CITY – The NIACC volleyball team landed two players on the NJCAA Region XI-A first team.
Sophomores Kaylee Whittington (middle blocker/outside hitter) and Liv Block (defensive specialist) were first-team Region XI-A selections. Region XI-A was made up of players from Kirkwood, DMACC and NIACC.
Whittington and Block were both second-team all-conference selections. The all-conference team is made up of all of the Division II teams in the ICCAC.
Whittington, who was a first-team Region XI-B selection as a freshman, led the Lady Trojans with 420 kills. She also had 258 digs, 40 blocks and 28 ace serves.
Block led the Lady Trojans with 650 digs, which ranks 14th in NJCAA Division II, and had 39 ace serves.
NIACC sophomore Meagan Miller was a second-team NJCAA Region XI-A selection as an outside hitter. Miller had 242 kills and 180 digs this season.
Miller was also a honorable mention all-conference selection and a RegionXI-A all-tournament team selection.
