Mason City police confirm that today, November 3, 2016 at about 8:06 AM, a male subject was observed hanging from a tree adjacent to the bridge at 1st Street SW and Jefferson Avenue. The deceased, according to police is a 23-year-old male subject and has been identified as a Mason City resident.
“This appears to be a suicide,” police told NIT. The name of the deceased was not released.
Reportedly, a bus driver called in to authorities at 8:06 AM and reported that someone was hanging from the tree. Police had the area blocked off as they tended to the situation.
