Iowa teen hurt in auto crash outside Clear Lake

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – An Iowa teen was hurt in an auto crash outside Clear Lake Saturday afternoon.

On September 26, 2020, at approximately 9:57 PM, the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle collision. The driver, 18-year-old Maxwell McCulley of Musctine, Iowa, was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger southbound on Grouse Avenue near the 21000 block when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the west ditch, rolled, and came to a stop on its top. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. The driver was transported to Mercy One North Iowa Hospital by Clear Lake Fire and Rescue. At this time, the accident remains under investigation and alcohol is suspected to be involved.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Clear Lake Fire and Rescue.
