Four injured in two car accident Wednesday in Franklin county

logo-iowa-state-patrolSHEFFIELD – Four North Iowans were hurt in a two car accident a few miles west of Sheffield Wednesday evening.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, a 2005 Dodge mini-van driven by 45-year-old Lisa Ann Cook of Thornton was westbound on Highway C13 near Jonquil Avenue when she lost control and swerved into traffic. A 2002 Ford F150 driven by 74-year-old James Harle of Kanawha then struck the back-end of Cook’s vehicle, sending the van into the south ditch.

Four persons were injured in the collision. Harle and Cook were both hurt, and in addition, 40 year-old Mike Foell of Thornton and 21-year-old Steven Cook Meservey were hurt. All four persons were transported to Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Franklin County EMS, Sheffield Fire and EMS, Sheffield police and Frankiln County Sheriff’s Office.
