Man and child hurt in pickup rollover accident

ambulanceMASON CITY – A man and a young boy were hurt in a pickup truck rollover accident Wednesday afternoon.

Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a scene of a single vehicle rollover accident on Wednesday, November 2 after 3 PM. A 2003 Ford F150 pulling an enclosed trailer was being driven by a Gil Sandoval, age 40 of Mason City. Sandoval was Westbound on B-55 when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll onto its side and come to rest on the roadway. Sandoval and a male juvenile passenger, age 11 also of Mason City, were transported by Mason City Fire Medics to Mercy Medical Center North IA with what appeared to be minor injuries.

Both were wearing seat belts.

Sandoval was cited with failure to maintain control and expired registration.

A state accident report is being completed and the accident remains under investigation. Cerro Gordo sheriff’s department was assisted by Thornton EMTS, Meservey Fire and Mason City Fire.
