Kanawha man sent to jail for smashing glass door at Mason City bar

MASON CITY – A Kanawha man smashed a glass door at a local bar and was convicted for the crime.

Jimmy D Harris, age 21 of Kanawha, was accused of allegedly punching and breaking an entrance glass door at The Place 2 Be bar, located at 116 North Federal, on August 13, 2016. The damage estimate was $545.00.

Harris allegedly left the scene, and police could not locate him initially. A warrant was issued was issued for his arrest. On August 26, Harris turned himself in at the jail and was then arrested.

On November 1, Harris and his public defender entered a guilty plea to third-degree criminal mischief. Judge Karen Salic sentenced him to 2 days in jail with a suspended fine. He was ordered to pay $330.00 in court costs and fees.
